Cannon
Concussive Force
The field general. He reads a threat the way he reads a defense, and he's the last one through every door.
They didn't choose this. But they're not running from it.
A city that runs on ambition. Glass towers, packed arenas, sold-out gyms, rinks that never close. Somewhere in it, a group of kids were quietly becoming the best at what they did.
A quarterback who reads a defense before the snap. A sprinter already alone at the front. A fourteen-year-old who plays above the rim. A skater three moves ahead of everyone on the ice. A gymnast holding an iron cross like it costs her nothing.
None of them knew each other. All of them were being watched.
The invitation said scholarship competition. It wasn't. They were taken, locked in a laboratory, and wired into a machine built to extract what made them exceptional.
The machine failed. The energy it tried to take went the other way instead, and the room came apart around them.
They walked out of that lab carrying something nobody planned for. Now they're hiding in Metro City, learning what they can do, and finding out that being hunted doesn't end just because you got away.
A team that was already exceptional before any of this happened. Some carry it in a fist, a leap, a bow across the strings. What the experiment amplified was always there first.
Concussive Force
The field general. He reads a threat the way he reads a defense, and he's the last one through every door.
Superhuman Speed
Already the fastest kid in the state before any of this. Now he moves faster than his own body understands.
Gravity Defiance
A prodigy headed to the WNBA. She was always going up. Now she decides when she comes back down.
Cryokinesis
Elite skater, precision playmaker. He doesn't panic. He calculates. Ice was always his language.
Adaptive Energy
The youngest, the smallest, the most disciplined body in the group. Everyone underestimates her exactly once.
The Strategist
Plays two grown men at once and beats them both at the same time. No power. Just a mind that's already three moves ahead of the room.
Sonic Influence
She can move people through her music. She didn't get that gift by accident, and whose granddaughter she is changes everything.
He didn't pick these kids at random. He went hunting for the best, because the best was exactly what his machine was built to take. The experiment failed. He didn't.
"I will hunt them to the ends of the earth."

Start at the beginning. Three episodes, and the story is only getting started.
Episode One
Meet them before anything happened. Different kids, different sports, different worlds that were never supposed to touch.
Episode Two
A scholarship competition that was never a competition. By the time they understood, the doors were already locked.
Episode Three
The machine fails. The room comes apart. They walk out carrying something nobody planned for.
Everything on this page is the beginning. The book is where it opens all the way up: how they were chosen, what the experiment really was, and what it costs to survive something you were never meant to walk away from.
